  • As we learn to listen, we also listen to learn. We are choosing to make our social space a place to listen to and learn from the ongoing discourse on social justice and equity across the nation. We will not be posting outside of this conversation through next week. We hope that what we do share will help further this meaningful dialog and bring hope and encouragement to our community. We invite you to engage with us, listen with us, and learn with us over the next week. We’re grateful to those using their voices to educate and advocate. We hear you. #livewhereyoumatter
  • Remember: We’re all in this together. Together we can create lasting, meaningful change in our communities. Together, we can show love and support for each other. Together, we can ensure our communities are kept safe and remain united. We’re here with you. We’re here for you. #livewhereyoumatter
  • **How to Tie-Dye** As the weather continues to get warmer, I thought it would be fun to post an activity to do outside. I went to Michael’s and picked up some t-shirts and dye to try my hand at tie-dying since I haven’t attempted since 6th grade!
This is what you’ll need…
tie-dying dye
spray bottle
large zip-lock bag
big bowl or bucket
cardboard or something to spray onto
I started by wetting the t-shirt completely and either spiraling the shirt from the middle or crunching it up and putting a bunch of rubber bands on it to hold it together. I then followed the instructions on the dye box and put it into the spray bottle and sprayed the color where I wanted. Once I had sprayed the three colors, I put the shirt in the zip-lock bag overnight. In the morning I rinsed the shirt in warm water until the dye no longer bled out and washed it in the washer. (Next time I’m going to add more color to my shirt but it turned out ok!)
If you, or your family would like to tie-dye and need materials please feel free to ask at!

  • **Face Mask Friday**
Since we have all be stuck inside for so long, it is nice to treat yourself to a little pampering. Here is a quick and brightening face mask to try with some ingredients that you may have around the house!
1/4 of a ripe smashed avocado
1/2 TBSP of honey
1/2 tsp of lemon juice
Pinch of cinnamon
Let it work it’s magic on your skin for about 15 minutes and then wash off with warm water. Love, Haley and Naomi (your apartment life team💛)
